Melissa Mayeux

Varsity Head Softball Coach

Coach Melissa Mayeux was born and raised in Paris, France until age 14. She was then accepted into one of the only two baseball academy's in France. At the early age of 16 years old, she became the first woman eligible to be drafted by a Major League Baseball Team.

At age 17, Coach Mayeux played at Miami Dade College for 2 years. She then continued her collegiate athlete years at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, playing for the Ragin' Cajun Softball Team. She has been awarded Sunbelt Player of the Year and has played professionally for the Vipers in the WPF. We are honored to have her dedication and skill set as a part of Knight Nation!

"I have always been passionate about helping others and using softball as a means to help each player become better- a better teammate and a better individual. I count this as a blessing!

My goal for this team is to place more focus on the process and not the outcome. We will take each season, game-by-game, and get better physically and mentally.

I am so proud of this team. We are always pushing forward. Even after being hit by adversity, we continue to look for ways to improve.

Go Knights!"
